Villa Laguna Gecko, is a 3 story custom waterfront estate with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, large pool with palapa located in a private very secure gated community overlooking the Lagoon and Maya mountains in the Maya Beach area of Placencia, Belize. The home is in a gated private community with 24 hour security and connected to the Placencia Resort located directly across the street. Guests staying at the villas have access to the resort amenities including beach, pool and restaurants. Being located directly on the Placencia lagoon adds so much to this property.

The sunsets over the lagoon and Maya Mountains from the homes massive patios and decks on all 3 levels are spectacular. From your back yard take the Villa's kayaks to fish for Snook, Snapper, and more in a world class location. If you are not into fishing a sightseeing trip on the kayaks through the mangrove filled lagoon is a great way to spend the day. The 24-hour security and guard gate offer safety and privacy. With all this you are still just a short walk or even shorter golf cart ride from the amazing beach, pool and other amenities at the Placencia Hotel. This Villa offers the privacy and comfort of your own home along with all the associated high end resort amenities including daily maid service and professional chef to cook your meals 3 days a week in the home that is included with rental.

Villa Laguna Gecko is a certified Gold Standard Property by the Belize Tourism Board and managed by a highly respected company that manages four exclusive private island and numerous luxury waterfront villas in Placencia.

Ground Floor features:

2 large bedrooms each with private baths, and access to large covered patio overlooking pool and lagoon. You enter on second floor and walk downstairs

2nd Floor features:

A huge open kitchen with island breakfast bar, large open dining room, large outdoor covered and open patio / dining area off the off kitchen overlooking the Placencia Lagoon and Maya Mountains. Also a full bathroom is located on this floor.

3rd Floor features:

The top floor is a massive private master suite and bathroom, with oversized jetted tub, shower and huge open patio overlooking both the lagoon and mountains. 4th Bedroom with two twin trundles but no private bath. The twin beds can convert and sleep up to 4 guest.

We are located across the street from the Placencia Hotel, and 2 miles north of Maya Beach. The home is uniquely located in upscale area that provides for a very private setting, yet it is close to fine dining and other upscale resorts in an exclusive section of Placencia, just 10 minutes from Placencia Village and air strip.

At Gecko Vacation Rentals, we are passionate about two things; providing the highest quality services and ensuring our guests have a great vacation & experience in Belize. Our extraordinary property provides a one-of-a-kind setting, but the amenities we provide elevate it to a league of its own. From the personal chef to daily guest laundry, our idea is that our guests should not have to lift a finger. The staff at Villa Laguna Gecko we will stock the fully equipped kitchen with provisions as requested in advance, so our guests can get into vacation mode right away, with no effort and only the actual cost of the food you have selected.

Placencia is the second most popular tourist destination located in Southern Belize. It is located on a 16 mile long peninsula that is surrounded by the Placencia Lagoon on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. It is much smaller, less congested and more laid back than Ambergris Caye / San Pedro. Being on a peninsula and not an island, Placencia provides easy access to the Belize Rainforest and many activities on the mainland like Mayan Ruins, waterfalls, zip lining and cave tubbing to name a few. Placencia offers numerous restaurants, small shops and bars and is home to famous Placencia Sidewalk and is the perfect place for an amazing Caribbean vacation.

All international flights coming into Belize land at the Belize City Airport (BZE). Our full time concierge will work with you to arrange transportation from BZE to the property. Getting from BZE to the villa is easy with 3 options available.

Option 1 is to take a short (approximately 30 minute) local commuter flight from BZE to the Placencia Airstrip where you will be met by one of the Gecko Properties staff and taken directly to your villa. Our concierge will work with you to book these flights once you have your international flights booked and locked in.

Option 2 is to take a van shuttle from BZE to the villa. The driver will meet you outside of baggage claim. The drive from BZE to the villa is around 2.5 hours. The roads are all paved and a good portion of the drive is on the beautiful Hummingbird Highway that goes through the Maya Mountains. Our concierge will work with you to get this booked again once you have your international flights booked

Option 3 is to rent a vehicle at BZE and make the drive down to the villa yourself. There are numerous rental car agencies right across the parking lot from baggage claim including Hertz Avis and Crystal Car Rental a larger local car rental company. You would just need to go online to book and secure a vehicle prior to arrival.

BOOKING FEES & CANCELLATION POLICY
A full refund minus a non-refundable booking fee of $150, will be issued when Guest elects to cancel the booking at least 60 days prior to check-in date. If the booking is canceled at any point after the 60 days, all payments made will be retained.

Payment Policies

A partial payment in the amount of 30% of the grand total is due no later than 1 day(s) after confirmation of intention to book or upon booking if that date has already passed. Remaining payment is due no later than 45 days prior to arrival. Upon check-in a damage deposit of $700 will be held on your card until after check-out. If the booking is made after [or within 3 days of when] the second payment would be due, then this payment will be combined and due together with the first payment.
Guest agrees that all additional services purchased through our concierge are non-refundable and will be charged to the card on file upon the booking of those services.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All amounts paid under the lease (less a non-refundable $150 booking fee) shall be refunded when Guest elects to cancel the lease at least 60 days prior to the arrival date contained in this lease. If the lease is canceled at any point after 60 days from the arrival date contained in this lease, all payments made under the lease shall be non-refundable and retained by Lessor.

Failure to make lease payments when due shall result in the Guest being in default of this lease agreement and the lease shall be deemed cancelled by Lessor if any payment due is not paid within 48 hours of the date such payment was due.

The property manager strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance, to protect the guests in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as; interruption of travel due to weather, personal emergency or illness.

No Pets permitted unless specifically approved in advance by Lessor and payment of additional security deposit to Lessor as agreed to in advance.
Absolutely no smoking permitted inside home. Cigarette butts, cans, bottles, and other trash shall be properly disposed of and not left in yard, or beach area.
Lock golf cart with steering wheel lock when not in use as all club car keys are same.
Return cell phone and charger to caretaker at check out.
Wear lifejackets provided when using kayaks, wash with fresh water and put up when done.
Do not commit or allow any unlawful, improper, or offensive use of the Property.
Household items (Bluetooth speaker, towels, utensils, games, etc.) are not to be removed from the Property.
Please wash off sand from feet in wash out areas by sidewalk before entering home, POOL, or patio.
Please turn off a/c and all lights when not in use.
Upon departure, return keys to caretaker. Lost keys will cost $45.00 each.
MUST BE 18yrs OLD TO OPERATE GOLF CART.
All weddings on a Gecko Property are subject to additional charge and must be booked in advance.
