Hi there! I’m Kathy, professional host and co-owner of Gecko Vacation Rentals. I am a Belize resident and split time between Placencia and Texas. I have been travelling to and vacationing in Placencia Belize for more than 20 years now. I enjoy familiarizing myself with other cultures and having new experiences while making fun memories with my family and friends. This is essentially what lead us to build a first class team and company that focuses on offering amazing water front properties that provide a unique experience and a great vacation for our guests. My family and I started renting our first villa in 2008. We now offer professional vacation management services to over 15 high end water front villas and condos as well as 4 unique private islands (one of which was just listed as the best island to rent in 2023) and an amazing jungle resort! Our passion is to help our guests explore all Placencia has to offer, while offering convenient and resort-style amenities to enhance the vacation experience. Over the years we have built a team of local professionals who are not only knowledgeable about the area but also passionate about providing great service. We are continuously adding value to our rentals and staying ahead of the curve to ensure our guests have a unique, memorable and idyllic stay with us – that is the Gecko difference! I love to travel and have been to many beach resorts, but nothing beats having your own private villa or island with dedicated staff and guides.
