Located in the baggage claim area of the Belize International Airport are several nice duty-free shops.  While you are waiting on your bags it is a very good idea to purchase liquor and wine for your stay.

While you’re waiting on your bags, if you want liquor and wine for your trip that is the time to go into one of the shops and get it.  The selection is definitely better and the prices much lower than you will find in Placencia Village at the stores.

If you are catching a local connecting flight that is not a problem as the Maya or Tropic airlines will check your duty free purchases to Placencia for you at no charge.

If you are wanting to make duty free purchases for your stay in Belize you MUST make them BEFORE you leave the customs arrival hall.
