Surfside Gecko Villa is a large, custom-built gated beachfront estate set directly on the Caribbean Sea in the peaceful Surfside area of Placencia, just a short golf cart ride from Placencia Village. With a huge freshwater pool overlooking the beach, a spacious outdoor kitchen and covered patio, and four generously appointed bedrooms across two floors, this villa is perfectly designed for families and groups who want a private, relaxed beachfront getaway without compromising on comfort or convenience.
The heart of the villa is the impressive chef's kitchen, featuring a massive island bar that makes it the natural gathering spot for morning coffee, casual lunches, and evening cocktails. The open-plan living room with a large flat-screen TV flows directly off the kitchen, creating a seamless indoor hangout space. The large, covered patio and outdoor kitchen overlook the pool and beach, ideal for alfresco dining and entertaining, while the beach just steps beyond invites you to pull out a kayak, set up a chair, or simply take in the views of the Caribbean Sea. Two ground-floor king bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms offer comfortable retreats at the end of the day, while two upper-floor queen bedrooms each enjoy private en-suite bathrooms and a large, shared balcony overlooking the pool and ocean, perfect for catching the breeze and watching the sunset.
**CHEF SERVICE**
Your stay includes complimentary private chef service for stays of 4 nights or more, one full chef day for every two nights stayed. Each chef day includes 3 meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) prepared fresh for your group. For example: a 6-night stay includes 3 chef days; an 8-night stay includes 4 chef days. You will only need to reimburse the chef directly for the cost of groceries. Nothing is marked up, and the chef will provide you with an invoice, payment instructions, and copies of all receipts. Food costs typically run $45 to $50 per person per day based on the preset menu. Need the chef more often? Additional chef days can be added for $125 per day.
Grocery stocking service is also included with your stay. There is a provisions list of basic groceries, snack items and beverages you can fill out if you wish to have those items stocked at the house when you arrive. The chef will purchase your groceries, and you only reimburse the items bought.

The package covers all 3 meals, a fruit bowl, limited non-alcoholic beverages, and one lobster meal (in season), with no additional grocery reimbursement required. Situated on a stunning 16-mile-long peninsula flanked by the Caribbean Sea on one side and a serene lagoon on the other, it offers the perfect blend of laid-back Caribbean charm and easy access to adventure. Placencia is relaxed, uncrowded, and refreshingly authentic, far less congested than Ambergris Caye/San Pedro. From here you can explore ancient Mayan ruins, hidden waterfalls, zip lines, cave tubing, world-class snorkeling, and some of the best sportfishing in Central America, with great restaurants, local shops, beachside bars, and the famous Placencia Sidewalk all right at your doorstep. It is the perfect place for an amazing Caribbean vacation!
**GETTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO THE PROPERTY**
All international flights arrive and depart through Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. From there, you have three options for getting to Placencia. After confirming your reservation, your Gecko concierge will reach out to help coordinate your preferred transfer.
Option 1 — Flying: A 30-minute domestic flight from BZE to the Placencia airstrip costs $299 USD round trip per person. Your concierge will also arrange pick-up from the Placencia airstrip directly to the property. Our concierge will work with you to book the local flights as soon as you have your international flights ready.
Option 2 — Private Shuttle: A comfortable, direct shuttle from BZE to the property takes just over 2 hours on a fully paved road. Cost is $650 USD round trip (tax included) for up to 3 passengers, plus $60 per additional person round trip (maximum 12 passengers). Our concierge will work with you to book the shuttle van as soon as you have your international flights ready.
Option 3 — Self-Drive: Prefer to explore at your own pace? Rent a car from the agency of your choice at BZE and drive yourself to the property. Be sure to secure your rental online prior to your arrival. Your concierge will provide detailed directions upon booking.
**BOOKING FEES & CANCELLATION POLICY**
60 days or more prior to arrival: full refund less $150 booking fee
Less than 60 days prior to arrival: no refund
This policy applies to direct bookings only. Guests who book through third-party platforms or Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy (HVMB) are subject to the cancellation terms of their respective booking channel.
Property Information
Payment Policies
A partial payment in the amount of 30% of the grand total is due upon booking. Remaining payment is due no later than 45 days prior to arrival. Upon check-in a damage deposit of $700 will be held on your card until after check-out. If the booking is made after [or within 3 days of when] the second payment would be due, then this payment will be combined and due together with the first payment.
Guest agrees that all additional services purchased through our concierge are non-refundable and will be charged to the card on file upon the booking of those services.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All amounts paid under the lease (less a non-refundable $150 booking fee) shall be refunded when Guest elects to cancel the lease at least 60 days prior to the arrival date contained in this lease. If the lease is canceled at any point after 60 days from the arrival date contained in this lease, all payments made under the lease shall be non-refundable and retained by Lessor.
Failure to make lease payments when due shall result in the Guest being in default of this lease agreement and the lease shall be deemed cancelled by Lessor if any payment due is not paid within 48 hours of the date such payment was due.
The property manager strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance, to protect the guests in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as; interruption of travel due to weather, personal emergency or illness.

No Pets permitted unless specifically approved in advance by Lessor and payment of additional security deposit to Lessor as agreed to in advance.
Absolutely no smoking permitted inside home. Cigarette butts, cans, bottles, and other trash shall be properly disposed of and not left in yard, or beach area.
Lock golf cart with steering wheel lock when not in use as all club car keys are same.
Return cell phone and charger to caretaker at check out.
Wear lifejackets provided when using kayaks, wash with fresh water and put up when done.
Do not commit or allow any unlawful, improper, or offensive use of the Property.
Household items (Bluetooth speaker, towels, utensils, games, etc.) are not to be removed from the Property.
Please wash off sand from feet in wash out areas by sidewalk before entering home, POOL, or patio.
Please turn off a/c and all lights when not in use.
Upon departure, return keys to caretaker. Lost keys will cost $45.00 each.
MUST BE 18yrs OLD TO OPERATE GOLF CART.
All weddings on a Gecko Property are subject to additional charge and must be booked in advance.
